Keane included in 26-man squad

Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has named a 26-man squad for next month's Euro 2012 play-off against Estonia. Captain Robbie Keane has been included in the squad despite doubts over his fitness after he missed the final qualifier against Armenia through injury. Kevin Doyle has been named in the squad despite being banned for the first leg of the tie in Estonia following his sending off against Armenia. West Brom forward Shane Long has been surprisingly included despite the fact he has been ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury Despite the absences of Doyle and Long, Trapattoni has again overlooked Newcastle striker Leon Best and Celtic forward Anthony Stokes. Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson returns to the squad after missing the recent qualifiers against Andorra and Armenia. Paul McShane also returns to the fold after injury with Kevin Kilbane and Kevin Foley both missing from the last squad. The Republic travel to Estonia for the first leg on Friday 11th November before welcoming them to Dublin four days later as the two countries battle for a place at next summer's finals in Ukraine and Poland. Trapattoni insists there is no room for complacency for his side despite being overwhelming favourites to overcome Estonia. "There is no room for complacency as we prepare for our two games next month," said Trapattoni. "We will remember that Estonia have as much right to be in the play-off as ourselves. "They have had some very good results in their group beating Serbia and Slovenia. They also caused Italy a lot of problems. These games will be a huge challenge for us, and we must maintain the correct mentality from start to finish."
