Winger upset at missed chance

Holland ace Arjen Robben admits he has no excuses for his miss in the World Cup final. Holland lost in extra-time as Andres Iniesta scored late on to give Spain the victory, but things could have been different for the Oranje and Robben as he missed a gilt-edged chance to give his side the lead on the hour mark. He was sent clear, but as he tried to wait for Iker Casillas to go down - the Spanish keeper managed to divert Robben's effort wide with his feet. Robben knows he should have scored and at least given his side the lead in Johannesburg. "Normally you should, for that I have no excuses," Robben said. "He [Casillas] made the target small, I shoot and think I caught his small toe - but normally that would go in." Robben also had another chance when he broke clear and he looked to be impeded by Carles Puyol, but he played on and Casillas gathered the ball. But Robben feels under-fire referee Howard Webb should have given something, saying: "It was clear I was caught by Carles Puyol. "That should have been a second yellow card and he should have gone, I did not want to lie and go down as all I thought about was scoring, but that meant nothing happened."
