France defender Eric Abidal admits he has not settled into a solid partnership with fellow centre-back William Gallas.
Les Bleus have been slaughtered in the French press following their 1-0 defeat to China on Friday, and go into the World Cup not firing on all cylinders.
They have also conceded goals in other warm-up games against Costa Rica and Tunisia, with Abidal and Gallas looking unsettled at the back.
The Barcelona man knows he has to improve, as he looks to build up a better understanding with his team-mate.
"It's always hard for a team to let in goals," Abidal told
Telefoot.
"Now I don't think that it's linked only to the defence.
"There are still some details to sort out with William, in the accuracy in the level of placement because William is used to playing in a certain position.
"It's up to me to be able to adapt and then to do movements in a block, as a team, and to try to do everything to plug the gaps that could occur."
Pressure
France have been drawn in World Cup Group A alongside hosts South Africa, Mexico and Uruguay.
Manager Raymond Domenech is under big pressure going into the showpiece tournament, but Abidal says it is not all doom and gloom.
"I think that on the whole, we should still be pleased because we have conceded three goals but we have still had a victory and a draw," he added.
"So it's encouraging for us."
