Ronaldo questions Pele goal tally

RONALDO has risked the wrath of Pele fans everywhere by asking for the Brazilian Football Federation to take a closer look at his official goal tally.

Ronaldo has insisted that one of his main ambitions is to surpass Pele's goal tally for his nation - which is currently set at 95 goals in 114 games.

"I think the CBF should take a long look at the goals Pele scored," said Ronaldo.

"I also want them to make sure that they count all of mine - including the ones I scored in the Olympic games of 1996 in Atlanta."

Pele leads the current Brazilian national goalscorers list by a huge margin, with Romario in second place on 54.

Ronaldo's current tally is 49, and he is keen to compete with a player often regarded as the best ever seen.
