This game was part of a fitting tribute to Dean Richards following the tragic death of the former Wolves and Spurs defender. Both clubs paid their respects to him ahead of the game, but then the match itself turned out to be a classic. Wolves will count themselves very unlucky because Jermain Defoe hasn't scored a Premier League goal since last April - and yet he scored two brilliant ones in this game. Wolves must have felt like the world was against them, but Mick McCarthy's players were at it until the end and made sure they didn't lose. They can take plenty of positives from that.

TEAM - Liverpool
It has to be Liverpool, following that big result against Manchester United. People say United haven't been playing well, but they've been wining games up until now - and you'd usually expect them to bounce back after a disappointment like the one they suffered against Chelsea. I'm sure Kenny Dalglish would have preferred them not to lose to Chelsea, but he ensured his players were up for it from the first whistle and in the end they made them look very ordinary. A week is a long time in football and after their defeat to West Ham I read some articles saying that Dalglish was past it. Well, he's shown he's up to scratch - and it's onwards and upwards for Liverpool now.

PLAYER - Dirk Kuyt
One of the changes that Dalglish has made has been to get Dirk Kuyt more involved as a central forward - and it has paid dividends for him. I'm sure that's only a short-term fix until Andy Carroll comes into the team, but scoring three against Manchester United is something that the Dutchman will never forget. It was his first Premier League hat-trick and his first goals against United - and I don't think anybody on the planet would have predicted that.

GAFFER - Roy Hodgson
If West Brom had lost on Saturday then everybody would be saying it's over for them. Birmingham had proved in the Carling Cup final against Arsenal that they can mix it with the best, so for Roy to go there and get a 3-1 win was fantastic. There were some good performances from Avram Grant's West Ham against Stoke and Owen Coyle's Bolton coming back from the dead against Aston Villa, but I think Roy deserves this. It will give him belief that the can get out of it - and I still haven't got a clue who's going down this season!

GOAL - Jermain Defoe
Jermain Defoe scored two blinding goals for Tottenham against Wolves, having not scored at all since last April. I was amazed by that statistic, but he put it right on Sunday afternoon and I think you can take your pick from either of those. The second one is probably the strike that will earn most of the plaudits.

GRIPE - Time for technology
There were lots of incidents involving referees across the Premier League games this week and a lot of big decisions were got wrong by referees and their assistants. So it was nice to hear that the International FA Board got their heads together in Wales on Friday and discussed the continuation of tests on goal-line technology. It seems to be a step forward at long last. They also banned snoods from July 1, which is good to see. They were ridiculous in the first place - but I'm sure we'll see a few more before the cold weather subsides!
