Liverpool have now won only one of their last seven visits to St James' Park - although that was a 6-0 win in April 2013.
They have also won only one of their last seven games in all competitions, despite dominating a number of those. They have scored just eight goals in those seven games and conceded 14.
Phillipe Coutinho scored his 17th goal from outside the penalty area out of 36 scored in total. He has edged ahead of Roberto Firmino as the top goalscorer under Jurgen Klopp, who has now completed two years in charge. Coutinho has 28 to Firmino's 27.
Newcastle conceded their first first-half goal since returning to the Premier League and Georginio Wijnaldum, despite playing at a former home, still hasn't scored an away goal in his Premier League career. His record is 0 goals in 41 away games. He has 17 in 38 at home!
Klopp has played 75 Premier League matches in his two years, winning 38, drawing 22 and losing 15. He has 136 points. In all competitions he has played 111, winning 55, drawing 32 and losing 24.
Was September 2017 Harry Kane's best month for goals? Tom
MARTIN SAYS: What a month it was for Harry Kane - 13 goals for club and country. Some way to banish the talk of his barren August in front of goal.
That tally is quite comfortably his most prolific calendar month in terms of goals, with May 2017's total of eight coming second.
Back then, a four-goal haul against Leicester was followed by a hat-trick on the final day of the Premier League season at Hull, and it saw Kane race ahead of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to claim the Golden Boot with 29 league goals.
This time around, Kane's 13-goal feat has come courtesy of three braces in the league and another for England at Malta, while he also steered Tottenham to two Champions League victories. Firstly past Borussia Dortmund at Wembley with yet another double, before a hat-trick saw off APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus.
Which team has scored the most PL goals from outside the box ever? John
MARTIN SAYS: Our friends at Opta tell us that Liverpool's tally of 295 goals from outside the box is the most ever scored in the Premier League.
In fact, they have scored 33 more than any other side - and I was there to witness Coutinho's superb strike on Nissan Super Sunday. That was his 17th from outside the area.
Their closest rivals for goals from outside the area is Manchester United - who have done so 262 times. Michael Carrick has the most from the current squad (7)
Chelsea are just two goals behind them on 260. Then it's Arsenal, who have scored 218 goals from outside the box while Tottenham, round off the top five with 214 strikes.
Hi Martin. Crystal Palace have never beaten Man Utd in the Prem. Has any other club played more matches against one team without winning? Emma
MARTIN SAYS: Crystal Palace's 4-0 loss at Old Trafford on Saturday made it 17 games without recording a victory against Manchester United. They have lost 14 of those and drawn three.
We asked Opta to look at other teams who have never beaten a particular opponent in the Premier League - and they told us that Palace set a new unwanted record on Saturday.
Saturday's failure to win means they now have the longest run against one Premier League opponent without winning.
That record was previously shared with Charlton Athletic, who have not beaten Manchester United in any of their 16 Premier League meetings
United have also never lost to QPR or Birmingham City in 14 Premier League encounters.
Arsenal and Chelsea have both gone 14 games unbeaten against Portsmouth before the south-coast club slipped down the divisions.
Has anyone scored more PL goals as a substitute than Peter Crouch? Clive
MARTIN SAYS: Crouch scored from the bench for Stoke against Southampton at the weekend - and that was his 14th goal as a substitute in the Premier League era.
However, there are a few players ahead of him in terms of goals as a substitute in the top flight.
Current Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe leads the way with 23 goals as a replacement, which is six more than his next closest competitors Kanu and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who scored 17 times each as substitutes.
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge also features with 15 goals, just one ahead of Crouch's haul, with the Stoke man level on 14 strikes with current West Ham forward Javier Hernandez and Arsenal's Olivier Giroud.
