Grimsby Town's bid to sign Michael Bridges on loan has been knocked back by Hull City.
Grimsby Town's bid to sign Michael Bridges on loan has been knocked back by Hull City. The League Two club had asked to take Bridges on a temporary basis after the striker struggled for first-team football last season.
But Tigers manager Phil Brown has revealed Grimsby's offer was not suitable, and that the former England hopeful is keen to stay at The KC Stadium.
"Grimsby offered us a percentage of Michael's wages for a loan basis, but I don't think that is the way forward for Michael," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"At this moment in time he clearly seems to be wanting to play for Hull City.
"As long as he's showing that commitment, then he'll be a Hull City player this season.
"It was a very polite 'no' to Grimsby."
