Sebastian Larsson's agent is planning to meet with Birmingham City to discuss a new contract.
Midfielder's agent claims other clubs are also waiting in the wings
Sebastian Larsson's agent is planning to meet with Birmingham City to discuss a new contract, but revealed other clubs are showing an interest in the midfielder.
Sweden international Larsson has impressed for Blues upon the club's return to the Premier League, but his current deal expires at the end of the season.
Birmingham boss Alex McLeish revealed earlier this week that talks are impending with the representatives of several players whose deals are up for renewal.
Larsson's agent Per Jonsson is now ready to meet the Blues board, although he declined to comment on suggestions the former Arsenal youngster will be offered a bumper five-year deal on £40,000 a week.
Great position
"I can't comment on any information like that," Jonsson told
Fotbollskanalen regarding the reported contract details.
"We are going to meet Birmingham's new chairman soon and sit down and discuss this.
"There is other interest in Sebastian as things have been going really good for him lately and he is on a really high level in England.
"He is in a great position."
Jonsson added: "He is really liked and plays on a regular basis, and likes both the club and the town.
"Things are going good for Birmingham and the club's new owner has talked about making a move to lift the team, so we are just hoping that they will come up with a good offer to him."
