Dinamo chief expects star to stay at Spurs
Dinamo Zagreb vice-president Zdravko Mamic understands why Luka Modric wants to move to Chelsea but ultimately expects the star to stay at Tottenham.
In one of the summer's longest running transfer sagas the Croatia international has been the subject of sustained interest by Tottenham's West London rivals.
Modric has expressed his desire to move across the capital, but Spurs are determined to hang onto him and have rejected two big-money offers from Chelsea so far.
Mamic is very close to the Croatian midfielder and helped broker his move from Zagreb to White Hart Lane in 2008.
He denied the 25-year-old is interested in money and insists only footballing ambition is behind Modric's desire to move to Chelsea.
However, the 52-year-old thinks Spurs will ultimately be rewarded for their determination to hang onto the playmaker and he will stay at White Hart Lane.
"I am almost sure that Luka will stay at Spurs," said Mamic.
"This is my information and that is the current stance of the club itself. They don't want to sell him at any price.
"And, you know Luka, he is not a money man, but someone who can stay indifferent to such an offer.
"Luka is the type of person who will make a real drama if his team is losing and in Chelsea he sees the Champions League, that is his instinct but, I am afraid that, at the end, he will 100% stay at Tottenham."
