Kammy looks back on a fittingly dramatic end to a thrilling Premier League season.
Chris Kamara's Picks of the Weekend
Every Saturday afternoon, Chris Kamara heads to stadiums up and down the country to deliver his unique match reports for Soccer Saturday. On Sundays you can see him back in the Sky Sports studios as he brings you all of the highlights on Goals on Sunday. And then on Mondays you can find Kammy right here on skysports.com as he brings you his picks of the weekend. This week, he looks back on a topsy-turvy final day that saw Birmingham and Blackpool relegated... TEAM - Blackburn
There were so many candidates. Blackburn was a great performance - to go to Wolves and win. They picked up the mantle while others held on and that was the difference. Wolves never really got going but even though it went down to the final day what matters more is what you've done before that.
GAME - Manchester 4-2 Blackpool
After the draw with Arsenal, for Newcastle to be involved in another epic (3-3 with West Brom) was amazing - but I've gone for one of the games that meant something. Blackpool were so valiant at Old Trafford and it was a classic. They gave it a real go but it wasn't to be.
GOAL - Stephen Hunt
That was a great goal. It came at such an important time for Wolves and lifted the crowd. It was a killer first touch and the second was even better. As I said before, it wasn't Wanderers' best performance of the season but as it turned out they'd done enough in the lead-up to the last day shenanigans.
PLAYER - Somen Tchoyi
He's not been used that much by Roy Hodgson but individually this was a truly great performance. I'd tend to go with someone who made his mark in a game that mattered but you can't ignore a hat-trick from a player who doesn't even play up front. Honourable mention goes to Jason Roberts, who was at his bullying best for Rovers.
GAFFER - Roberto Martinez
This could've gone to any of the managers who dragged their sides away from relegation, but 1-0 at Stoke was a magnificent result for Wigan. I know Stoke are coming off the back of a Cup final and had nothing to play for but the Latics had to go there and win to get out of trouble.
GRIPE - Blackpool's demise
Listening to Ian Holloway talk about how his players went into the crucial United game knowing their wages would be cut if they were relegated isn't quite right. They weren't the highest players in the Championship and they certainly weren't in the Premiership. It should've been looked at at Christmas time. I think everybody's sad for them and they've offered so much to the league this season. They've given hope to everybody - to all the teams coming up that haven't got a bean - they've shown that you can be competitive by having a go.
Lastly, I just want to say that it was a fantastic climax to another brilliant Premier League season and I can't wait for the Champions League now!
