Tosaint Ricketts scored his first goal for Toronto FC to earn the Canadian side a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake City in the MLS on Wednesday.
The Canada international, who signed for Toronto at the end of last month, came off the bench at BMO Field to produce the decisive moment of the match when he burst through the middle and powered home with 67 minutes on the clock.
That was enough to earn Greg Vanney's men the three points which keep them in second place of the Eastern Conference.
Real Salt Lake remain in fifth place in the Western Conference.
"I couldn't be more proud of our team," said Real Salt Lake manager Jeff Cassar. "The energy was right, the quality was right. They did everything that we asked them to do.
"We just got caught on that one play, we fell asleep and that can't happen. When you don't put the ball in the back of the net, defensive mistakes are amplified."
