Fernando Torres not automatic yes for MLS clubs, says Calen Carr

Former Houston Dynamo forward Calen Carr does not believe a move to the MLS for Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres is an "automatic yes" once his contract expires this summer.
The former Liverpool and Chelsea striker, 34, announced he would leave his boyhood club at the end of the season and Carr believes the former Champions League winner may not be the right fit for the MLS.
Carr told Sky Sports News: "It's got to be the right team, MLS is at a point now where some of these older stars who've done well at Europe aren't the necessarily right fit or an automatic 'Yes, we'll take you'.

"If it is Zlatan Ibrahimovic and it's the right fit for a big club with a global profile like LA Galaxy, it makes sense."
Torres, who re-joined Atletico in 2014, has seen his first-team opportunities limited this season, starting only three games in La Liga.
But Carr believes there has been a change in strategy for MLS clubs as they look to sign younger players to build their teams.
He added: "You hear teams like Atlanta United and LAFC who have gone younger and of the nine DP [Designated Player] signings in the off-season, the average age was just 22 and a half years old.
"You've got the likes of David Villa and Zlatan in the league, but otherwise I don't see the club right now who has the right profile and the right fit for a striker like this [Torres].
"I think he may pass but you never know, a player of his quality…there will always be interest around the world. But I think this is a positive for the MLS that this isn't an automatic yes."
