Sporting Kansas City made it four wins out of five after beating Vancouver Whitecaps

The Vancouver Whitecaps missed out on the chance to go clear at the top of the MLS Western Conference as they went down 1-0 to Sporting Kansas City on Sunday.

Kevin Ellis fired Sporting KC in front in the 52nd minute, and that would prove enough to secure the win at the BC Place Stadium.

The win for the visitors moves them up to sixth and into the play-off places.

The Whitecaps, meanwhile remain level on 32 points with Dallas and the Seattle Sounders at the top of the standings, although Dallas have a game in hand.
