Kwadwo Poku brace secures New York City draw

Kwadwo Poku scored twice as New York City were held to a 2-2 draw by Columbus Crew in a game delayed by 74 minutes due to a thunderstorm.
The Crew took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute with Kei Kamara's 18th goal of the season but New York equalized when Poku converted David Villa's pass shortly before the hour mark.
Ghanaian midfielder Poku put New York ahead in the 66th minute when Andrew Jacobson headed Andrea Pirlo's corner back into his path.
Columbus responded six minutes later as substitute Cedrick Mabwati scored to make the it 2-2.
Both teams were taken off in the 77th minute by referee Allen Chapman due to lightning in the area and no further goals were added after play resumed.
Cordell Cato and Chris Wondolowski each scored two goals and the San Jose Earthquakes cruised past Sporting Kansas City 5-0.
Cato opened the scoring after three minutes, tucking home Shea Salinas's left-wing cross before Wondolowski's penalty kick in the 17th minute made it 2-0. Quincy Amarikwa earned the penalty after being pushed down in the box by Chance Myers.
Anibal Godoy cut inside and beat goalkeeper Tim Melia for his first goal for San Jose and Cato flicked in Salinas' pass to make it four.
Three minutes later, Wondolowski headed in his 100th goal for the Earthquakes to move into sixth place on MLS's career scoring list. He also became the first player in MLS history to score 10 or more goals in six consecutive seasons.
