Samaras - Ki now my enemy

Georgios Samaras insists he will not wish Ki Sung-yueng good luck before the two lock horns in the WC.

Striker snubs Hoops team-mate ahead of World Cup

Georgios Samaras insisted he would not wish fellow Celtic team-mate Ki Sung-yueng good luck as the two prepare to lock horns in the World Cup. Samaras could come up against his club counterpart in the early stages of the finals on 12th June when Greece play South Korea. For that reason, the 25-year-old refused to shake Sung-yueng's hand when he left Parkhead early to prepare for the tournament. Boss Neil Lennon had drawn his squad to the dressing room following the Hoops' final match win over Rangers to wish the midfielder well. Samaras, though, passed up the opportunity, saying Sung-yueng would be his 'enemy from now on.'

Well wishes

"After the Rangers game, Lenny announced that Ki was leaving to go to the World Cup and to say good luck," Samaras told the club's official website. "So everyone was going to him and saying good luck. It was me and Ki standing next to each other in the dressing room and I was like, 'Don't wait for me to give you best wishes or my hand - you are my enemy from now on. "The game against Rangers is finished and we won and I was glad about that, but from now, don't look at me. I don't want to know you." Samaras admitted it was merely light-hearted banter, saying: "It's all good fun. "He is a great character and a good footballer and I am just looking forward to the first game."
