Miroslav Klose has admitted there is a chance he could retire from international football after the World Cup.
Klose scored his 50th goal in 99 appearances for Germany in their emphatic 4-1 victory over England in Bloemfontein on Sunday afternoon.
He is staying focused on helping Germany progress as far as they can at the World Cup and plans to keep on playing for as long as he remains fit.
However, at the age of 32, Klose concedes that this could be his final tournament in a Germany shirt and he could soon decide to 'step aside'.
"As long as my legs carry me I will play football," said the Poland-born forward, who struggled to get into Bayern Munich's team last season.
"But I'm very spontaneous. I would not put it past me in two or three weeks to step aside and give space to new players."
Belief
Reflecting on the win against England, Klose claimed that it was Germany's ability to play as a team that made the crucial difference.
"I think it's all down to a certain quality we know we have," he said.
"You see it every day in training and as I said many times before, it's crucial to have self-belief and present yourself as a true team on the pitch.
"I think this is what really helped in taking the wind out of the English sail.
"I think we were there as a team and that probably didn't seem to be the case with England."
