Paceman Jack Shantry commits future to Worcestershire

Left-arm paceman Jack Shantry has signed a new three-year contract with Worcestershire.
The 27-year-old took 50 County Championship wickets for the second season running in 2015 despite Worcestershire being relegated to the second division and he has committed himself to the Pears until the end of the 2018 campaign.
Shantry, who is the ninth Worcestershire player to agree new terms during the winter, said: "People enjoy playing for Worcestershire and we've got a group of players here that are only going to improve and it's nice to be shown that faith by the Director of Cricket, Steve Rhodes, and David Leatherdale (chief executive).
"It's time to repay them over the next couple of years and I think this group of players will do that and we will go from strength to strength. We've made progress over the last few years. The 2015 season was difficult obviously.
"There were games we should have won and could have won but we didn't and that's the steep learning curve of Division One cricket.
"This group of players will only get better and I'm very pleased and very proud to put my name to Worcestershire for another three years."
