Hull KR forward James Donaldson will miss up to 12 weeks of the Super League season after dislocating a wrist on Sunday.
The back row was injured during the second half of Rovers' defeat at Warrington and needs an operation to repair the joint.
Hull KR - already without skipper Terry Campese, hooker Shaun Lunt and second rower Kevin Larroyer - estimate his recovery time at between 10 and 12 weeks.
Head coach Chris Chester said: "We're doing it tough with injuries at the moment and it's a massive shame for Donno as he's started the season really positively for us.
"It means the depth of the squad is being tested with half a dozen players on the sidelines but the good news is that we should start to get some players back in the next two to three weeks.
"Liam Salter and James Greenwood should both be available for selection against Wakefield on Sunday to give us a few more options and people like George Lawler will continue to get plenty of game time and continue their development too."
