Sinking feelings

The Soccer Saturday panel picked their three to go down after the latest round of matches.
Our experts review some of the sides facing relegation
Just who will fall through the relegation trapdoor? That's the question the Soccer Saturday experts tried to answer following another topsy-turvy set of results on Saturday lunchtime. Blackpool boosted their survival hopes with a dramatic 4-3 win over Bolton at Bloomfield Road and will travel to Manchester United on the final day of the season believing they can pull off a great escape. Wolves' fate is in their own hands after they beat Sunderland 3-1 at the Stadium of Light and Mick McCarthy knows a home win over Blackburn on the final day of the season will keep his side in the top flight. Rovers themselves picked up a useful point at home to Manchester United on Saturday, but are still not out of danger ahead of the final round of matches.
Charlie Nicholas watched that game and said Rovers fans will face a nervous 90 minutes at Molineux next weekend.
And while he thinks they will survive, he said Blackburn could have tried harder to pick up all three points against the newly-crowned champions.
"In the last 10 minutes, both teams had accepted that 1-1 was a good result," Nicholas explained.
"The Blackburn players wouldn't be aware of the results that were going on in the rest of the country, but the one benefit they have is the goal difference. The goal difference is worth a point in some cases
"Blackpool have to go and win at Old Trafford. Even if Blackburn were to lose I think because of that, Blackburn are just about safe. They're just about over the line.
"But it's a terrible position to be in all of a sudden, going to Wolves, who are in pretty decent form, trying to get something out of it."
Important
Phil Thompson watched Wolves' game against a Sunderland that had nothing to play for and he feels the away side took advantage of that.
And he said it will give the whole club an important boost ahead of next Sunday's final home game against Blackburn.
Thompson said: "For the first time in I don't know how long, certainly this season, they have won back-to-back games - and at an important time.
The confidence that will give not just to the players, but to Mick McCarthy and the fans will be extra special.
"This was the game they were probably glad they had against this Sunderland team, but they did what they had to do.
"In the end it was comfortable for Wolves."
Fluke
Fellow Soccer Saturday pundit Paul Merson watched Blackpool move onto 39 points by beating Bolton and he feels they will need to pick up something at Manchester United next weekend.
He said they can be inspired by West Ham's final-day win at Old Trafford in 2007, which saw them beat the drop, and the fact that many neutrals would like to see them stay up.
"The only people that won't want them to go up are the three that get relegated," Merson said.
"Bar that, everybody will want them to stay up because they've been outstanding.
"All those teams are just one flukey goal away from getting relegated, it's that tight. It only takes a flukey goal by Blackpool at Man United.
"I remember not that long ago when West Ham had to go to Man United, no-one gave them a chance, but they won and they stayed up.
"The only problem is I watched Man United's reserves wipe the floor with Schalke the other week. Their attitude was spot on.
"But everybody likes Blackpool, bar the three at the bottom."
