Sasha Corbin hopes England will be at their best at Netball World Cup

Sasha Corbin expects an ‘intense’ six-week training camp as Tracey Neville assesses her options before whittling down her 19-strong long squad down to 12 players ahead of the Netball World Cup.
England recorded a third place finish in the last World Cup in Singapore and enjoyed a successful start under interim boss Neville, sealing a 3-0 series win over Trinidad and Tobago earlier this month.
And Hertfordshire Mavericks skipper Corbin is under no illusion of how rigorous the forthcoming camp will be as Neville fine-tunes preparations ahead of this summer’s tournament in Sydney, Australia.
“The squad has been named and I think it’s fantastic for all 19 of us,” Corbin told the Sportswomen show on Sky Sports News HQ.
“It’s going to be really intense and I think the squad is looking great with some of the girls who are away playing ANZ coming back and joining us.
“I think she (Neville) will be looking at combinations - who can work with each other and if you can put your best foot forward. This is a team sport and that will be the main thing she’ll be looking for.
“I’m not entirely sure of the exact programme but I know we are going to be looking at a lot of intense training in terms of endurance and technical work. It will be a hard block and it’s just about trying to be the best we can be heading into the World Cup.
“At the end of the day we know that is the biggest competition,” Corbin added.
“The World Cup is what we want to be a part of as athletes and netballers. It will be quite nerve-wracking but it will be about taking in all the information and not stressing about it because we know what we are capable of doing.”
Neville was appointed England interim head coach following the departure of Anna Mayes who left her post after four years at the helm.
“She's to the point and I like that you know where you stand with Tracey,” Corbin said.
“She’s very strong she knows what she wants.”
England squad in full:
