Diego Forlan's agent says that he is "optimistic" of brokering a deal between Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan for the transfer of the striker to the Italian giants.
The Uruguay international has emerged as the likeliest candidate to replace Samuel Eto'o at Inter following the Cameroonian's move to ambitious Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
Forlan's representative, Daniel Bolotnikoff had earlier denied that he had held talks with Inter but now reveals that he is confident that the 32-year-old will join the Nerazzurri before the end of the summer transfer window.
"This morning I am optimistic of success of negotiations with Inter Milan," he told
La Gazzetta dello Sport in Milan before heading for Madrid.
"We go ahead and continue to work but now, I repeat, I have become optimistic."
When asked about other reported offers for his client, Bolotnikoff remarked: "Other offers from PSG and Galatasaray for Forlan?
"We carry out only one deal at a time."
