Bulgarian midfielder accepts Ukrainian offer

Chavdar Yankov has left Hannover to take on a new challenge at Ukrainian outfit Metalurg Donetsk. The Bulgaria international has spent the last four-and-a-half years in Germany, having moved to the Bundesliga from Slavia Sofia in the summer of 2005. He has, however, fallen out of favour at Hannover of late and has decided that a change of scenery is required to reignite his career. The 25-year-old had spent the last six months on loan at German second division outfit MSV Duisburg, a move which convinced him he needed a fresh start. He now heads to Ukraine to team up with Bulgarian coach Nioklay Kostov and fellow countryman and midfielder Velizar Dimitrov at Metalurg. Yankov has signed a two-and-a-half-year contact with his new employers.
