Finnish striker cleared to play for new club
Swansea City have confirmed Shefki Kuqi has been granted international clearance to play for his new club.
The Swans confirmed the former Stockport, Sheffield Wednesday and Crystal Palace striker had signed with the club on Monday from TuS Koblenz.
However, international clearance from the German FA was required before the 33-year-old could legally play for Paulo Sousa's men after arriving on a free transfer.
That has now been granted and the player is eligible for Tuesday night's home clash with Coventry, a statement on the club's
official website confirmed.
"The final procedure in order to complete Shefki Kuqi's transfer has now been finalised," read the statement.
"Swansea City's new signing received international clearance from the German FA at 3.50pm this afternoon (Tuesday), enabling him to represent his new club in the Championship clash with Coventry City (7.45pm )."
The Finnish international trained with his new team-mates on Tuesday and is expected to make his return to the Football League against the Sky Blues at the Liberty Stadium.
