Posh complete striker capture

Dave Hibbert has completed his switch to Peterborough, penning a three-year deal upon his arrival. Skysports.com reported on Monday how the Posh were close to securing the Shrewsbury striker's signature. They have now proven successful in their endeavours, with the 24-year-old arriving at London Road as a free agent. Hibbert bagged 15 goals for the Shrews last season and was offered improved terms to remain at the Prostar Stadium. He has, however, opted to take on a fresh challenge elsewhere, becoming Peterborough's first piece of summer transfer business in the process. Posh boss Gary Johnson told the club's official website: "Dave is a player I have liked for a little while, he is technically very good and has scored a lot of goals in a side that probably didn't quite reach the expectations they had hoped for. "Every club likes to have a tall player in the squad, it is like having a club in the golf bag if you like. I am delighted to have him on board and am looking forward to working with him." Hibbert added: "The manager sold the place to me and I am delighted to be here. I am excited to be part of a promotion push."
