Midfielder out, but Antwi closing in on comeback

Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Stuart Thurgood is likely to sit out the rest of the season due to a knee injury. Thurgood, who joined the Daggers on a two-year contract from Gillingham last summer, has been sidelined with the problem since late November. He had a cartilage operation just before Christmas and has now had further surgery to clean up the injury, with manager John Still not expecting the 27-year-old to return before the end of the campaign. "It looks like that will probably be it for this season for Stuart," said Still. "Maybe just a touch at the end is possible, but we will have to wait and see." Meanwhile, central defender Will Antwi could return within the next fortnight after being out since early December with an ankle injury. Still said: "Will was making good progress, but unfortunately he had a slight pull in his calf and that has put him behind a little bit, but hopefully not too far behind."
