Adams weighs up changes; Daggers have defensive worries

Port Vale boss Micky Adams may decide to freshen up his team to face Dagenham & Redbridge, who have concerns in defence. Louis Dodds and Sean Rigg came back into the side in the wide positions as Vale won 2-1 at Rotherham on Saturday and both are likely to keep their places in the team at Vale Park. However, Adams may make changes elsewhere for a second game in three days. Adam Yates, Doug Loft, Lewis Haldane, Simon Richman and Robert Taylor provide options should Adams wish to freshen up his starting XI. Lee Molyneux could also be included in the squad. The left-back, who signed on loan from Southampton on the final day of the emergency window, missed the games against Crewe and Rotherham through a lack of match fitness.

Dagenham news

Dagenham boss John Still has fitness concerns over both of his first-choice central defenders ahead of the trip to Vale. Scott Doe lasted just half-an-hour of the 3-1 win over Accrington Stanley on Saturday before limping off with a lower back strain, while partner Mark Arber lasted until the 54th minute before he too succumbed to injury. Former captain Anwar Uddin is set for a rare start in place of Doe, with Frenchman Romain Vincelot on standby to replace Arber if required. The Daggers are just two points short of the play-off places with seven games remaining and a win at Vale Park could set them up for a late challenge. Midfielder Stuart Thurgood remains sidelined with a knee injury which threatens to end his season early and defender Will Antwi is still nursing a calf strain.
