Daggers and Millers do battle at Wembley

A place in the third tier will be up for grabs when Dagenham face Rotherham in the League Two play-off final on Sunday. The Daggers took the final spot in the end of season shake-up, with a seventh-placed finish edging them into the mix. The Millers ended the season in fifth, having been in and around the promotion places throughout the 2009/10 campaign. Dagenham saw off Morecambe to give themselves a shot at League One, with a convincing 7-2 aggregate success booking their progress. Rotherham were pushed a bit harder by Aldershot, but they too eased into a date at Wembley with a 3-0 overall success. Just one game now stands between both sides and a perfect ending to a memorable season, with the Millers perhaps holding the upper hand having beaten the Daggers home and away in their league encounters.

Dagenham team news

Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still has a doubt over midfielder Peter Gain as the club prepares for their date with destiny. Still saw his side demolish Morecambe in the semi-finals, so will name the same XI should Gain shake off a calf problem as the Daggers play the biggest game in their history. The club were backed by 12,000 fans in the 1997 FA Trophy final but have sold more tickets than that already and are also set to play in front of their highest crowd. Strikers Josh Scott and Paul Benson will continue their partnership in attack after scoring all seven goals between them in the semi-final win. Still remains without long-term absentees Stuart Thurgood (knee) and Will Antwi (ankle) as he bids to win a place in the third tier for the first time in the club's history.
Rotherham team news
Boss Ronnie Moore could make one change to his Rotherham side for their trip to the home of English football. Moore fielded the same side for both legs of their semi-final success over Aldershot but he may tinker with things for the showpiece final, with a potential change coming in midfield. "It will be the same 18 but I might make one change," said Moore. "We've had great two wins against Aldershot but I'm thinking of the bigger picture and maybe we can get someone in there who can get hold of the ball and pass it a little bit. "It will be hard on anyone if I did leave them out." If Moore does decide to make a change, on-loan Josh Walker would be the likely man to come into the side in a central midfield role, replacing Danny Harrison or Pablo Mills. Tom Pope and Dale Tonge (both foot) are the only two absentees as the Millers prepare for their first Wembley appearance since their 1996 Football League Trophy success.
