Striker disappointed by end to his Aldershot career

Aldershot striker Marvin Morgan has confirmed he has joined Dagenham & Redbridge on a loan deal until the end of the season. Skysports.com revealed earlier on Thursday that Morgan was poised to join the Daggers after he was placed on the transfer list by the Shots following comments he made on social networking website Twitter. The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and it appears that he may have played his last game for the Shots having completed the switch to the League One strugglers. "I've joined Dagenham & Redbridge on loan for the rest of the season, which is a great opportunity for me, but obviously I am disappointed in how my time at Aldershot came to an end," he told skysports.com.

Apology

"I apologise for the comments that I made and hope that the fans there will remember me for my performances on the pitch rather than the sour end to my time there. "I was surprised at how things snowballed and I have received over 300 messages on Facebook from fans about it. "It seems that fans are coming to terms with what I said because the first 100 or so were very negative to my comments, but since then they have been very positive. "There is a lot of things going on behind the scenes at Aldershot that I don't want to get into, but the move to Dagenham gives me a fresh opportunity to concentrate solely on my football again. "There was interest from elsewhere, with a number of Scottish clubs coming in for me, but I felt that moving the family up there at this time of year was a big gamble. "I wish Aldershot all the best for the rest of the season and the foreseeable future, but my full attention is now geared towards starting a new chapter of my career and helping the Daggers climb away from the relegation zone in League One."
