Morecambe are in talks to sign former Tranmere Rovers winger Chris Shuker on a free transfer.
Shuker failed to secure a new contract at Tranmere at the end of last season after making over 140 appearances during four years at Prenton Park.
The 28-year-old trained with SPL side Motherwell earlier in pre-season, but is now set to agree a deal with Morecambe.
He featured in last week's friendly against Blackburn Rovers and Shrimps boss Sammy McIlroy is hoping to add the wide man to his squad.
Shuker will undergo a medical on Friday morning and could feature in Saturday's League Two opener against Wycombe Wanderers if the move is finalised in time.
