Primera Liga strugglers wait on decision

Almeria insist that they have not made a decision on the future of coach Juan Manuel Lilo. The Andalusian outfit have made a disappointing start to the new season and currently sit third from bottom. Reports suggested that president Alfonso Garcia had opted to dispense with the services of Lilo, who has been in charge at the Estadio de Mediterraneo for 11 months. However, after meeting with vice-president Ricardo Martinez, technical secretary Alberto Benito and sporting consultant Juan Carrillo, it was decided that no decision would be made until after this weekend's clash with champions Barcelona. It is claimed that Garcia was persuaded by the other board members not to dispense with Lilo. "No decision has been made, we are analysing the situation and will not put the cart before the horse," said Martinez. "I know we have nine points from 33 and Tsunami is approaching us [referring to the next two games against Barcelona and Valencia], and drastic decisions are certainly not going to be taken, we are balanced."
