Juventus midfielder Milos Krasic has been handed a two-match ban for simulation at the weekend.
Krasic was found guilty of diving to win the Bianconeri a penalty in their goalless draw with Bologna on Saturday after replays showed he was not touched by opposing defender Daniele Portanova.
The incident sparked frenzied criticism in the Italian media but Juve general director Jean-Claude Blanc leapt to the defence of the midfielder, insisting the 25-year-old is not a cheat.
But Krasic has been reprimanded by the Italian Football Federation and the Serbian schemer will now miss the Old Lady's Serie A tussles against AC Milan and Cesena.
Clean player
Blanc told
Corriere dello Sport on Monday: "Every player has his own reputation, but Milos is a clean player who respects the rules."
"Those who judged the dive should also take into account his reputation."
Blanc also hit out at critics that claim Juventus do not always play by the rules, insisting the club teaches its players in the youth teams to show good sportsmanship.
"We have a programme that starts from the young players and it allows them to grow morally from a sports value angle," he said.
"This is the basis for instruction here, from youth teams to the first team."
A similar ban was administered to Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino last season after he scored a goal with his arm.
