Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan has denied saying an agreement is in place for him to join Juventus from Cagliari this summer, insisting his comments were mistranslated.
An interview in Belgian-based newspaper
Derniere Heure earlier this week
quoted Nainggolan as saying he was ready to join Juve and an agreement had been reached with the Turin club and his agent.
He was also quoted as branding Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino as "crazy" and questioned whether the club president would demand too much money for him.
Nainggolan has clarified his remarks, insisting there is no agreement with Juve and he is not certain to leave this summer.
He told his official
Twitter account: "I have absolutely not signed with Juventus.
"I also did not say I will surely leave, nor did I speak of our president.
"I just said that it's a great honour to be followed by big teams. They wrote the things they wanted to write."
Misunderstanding
Nainggolan's agent, Alessadro Beltrami, has moved to further clear up the misunderstanding, insisting the confusion stemmed from the midfielder speaking Flemish.
He told
Radio Mana Mana: "There was a problem with the journalist; a misunderstanding with the Flemish, which is a particular language.
"Radja has talked to me about signing with Juventus but he was referring to last January, not now.
"He called me and was worried but fortunately during this interview there was a Belgian press officer present and we have cleared up the understanding."
Asked if a Juve switch was a possibility for Nainggolan this summer, Beltrami added: "The Bianconeri are now thinking elsewhere."
