Cup final to clash with Premier League program
The Football Association has rejected suggestions that the FA Cup final will be an evening kick-off this season.
Uefa has confirmed that no match can be played at Wembley two weeks prior to the Champions League final being hosted at the stadium on 28th May.
Due to this statement, the FA Cup final is now set to be played on 14th May alongside a full programme of Premier League fixtures.
Although two fixtures will be postponed to accommodate the finalists should they be from the top flight, there are some crucial fixtures falling upon that weekend that could have a major say on several outcomes in the Premier League this season.
Despite some calls for the final to be moved to an evening kick-off, the FA has rejected the pleas, stating that even though a later start would attract more viewers, it is aware that it must respect the traditional 3pm kick-off.
"We have no plans to move the FA Cup final away from its usual kick-off," said an FA spokesman.
