Former Port Vale striker handed two-week trial by Grecians

Former Port Vale striker James Lawrie has joined Exeter City on a two-week trial. The 19-year-old came through the ranks at Vale Park but was released by the Valiants at the end of last year after dropping down the pecking order at the League Two outfit. But the Northern Ireland international has now been given the chance to resurrect his club career in a division above. Exeter boss Paul Tisdale told the club's official website: "He is going to spend a couple of weeks with us and we will wait and see what happens. "He is a centre-forward who has played for Northern Ireland and was with the full squad this summer."
