Skysports.com understands that Jason Dodd is set to be handed the caretaker manager's role at Aldershot Town.
The League Two side are looking for a replacement for Gary Waddock, after he switched to Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday.
The Shots are now understood to have given former Southampton star Dodd the chance to try his hand at management.
Dodd was joint-caretaker at Southampton last year before leaving the following summer along with John Gorman.
It is believed that Dodd's former Saints team-mate Nicky Banger - now corporate sales manager at Aldershot - has played a role in bringing him to the club.
It is understood Dodd will take on the caretaker role, with a view to landing the job on a permanent basis.
