Championship chase on for midfielder
Skysports.com understands Aldershot star Scott Donnelly is poised for a move to the Championship.
A couple of clubs are believed to be keen on signing the highly-rated midfielder with Donnelly set to leave the Shots this summer.
Donnelly was one of Aldershot's leading lights last season, scoring 14 goals and inspiring them to the play-offs only to lose to Rotherham in the semi-finals.
Wycombe have held a long-term interest in signing Donnelly as former Shots boss Gary Waddock looks to bring him to Adams Park, but it seems they could miss out on the 22-year-old with clubs higher up chasing his signature.
Aldershot offered Donnelly a new deal to stay at the club, but Shots boss Kevin Dillion is resigned to him moving on.
"I'm really pleased for Scotty. There's a move imminent but it's not public yet," said Dillon.
"He could have packed it in when he knew he wasn't signing.
"He goes with a pat on the back and the club he's going to is great. Some people will be surprised where he's going but he deserves it and it will improve his career."
