Midfielder pens one-year deal with Aldershot
Former Exeter central midfielder Emmanuel Panther has been signed by Aldershot.
The 26-year-old, who was released by Exeter when his contract expired at the end of last month, has joined Shots on a one-year agreement, with a view to extending the deal.
Panther joined the Grecians in 2008 but spent time on loan at Morecambe last season, helping the Lancashire club to the League Two play-off semi-finals.
Shots manager Kevin Dillon is thrilled to have secured the 6ft midfielder's signature.
Important
"This is an important signing for us and I am really enthused that we have been able to attract Manny to the club," Dillon told the club's
official website.
"He is a tall, powerful lad who plays an important role within the team. He is a sitting midfielder but he can also get around the pitch well too.
"I class him as the 'glue that keeps everything together' because he has the ability to fill the gaps and we sometimes got caught last season.
"Overall, though, Manny is a good athlete and is excited by the challenge ahead of him. He is raring to go and I am so pleased to be able to welcome him to the club.
"Players are becoming aware of the progress that the club made last season and want to be part of what we are trying to achieve here and that is encouraging.
"There will be more signings to come but we have made excellent progress this week and we will head away to the West Country at the weekend with a spring in our step."
