SPL outfit Hamilton Academical are set to sign former Bury full-back David Buchanan.
The 24-year-old underwent a medical on Sunday and, all being well, is expected to join up with his new employers when they jet out to a Spanish pre-season training camp on Monday.
The ex-Northern Ireland youth international left Bury at the start of July after failing to respond to a contract offer in time.
They subsequently signed a replacement left-back and ushered Buchanan to the exits.
Challenge
He made 215 appearances for the Shakers over a six-year period, but is now set to take on a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Buchanan recently took in a trial at Rochdale, as he stepped up his efforts to find a new club, but is now on the verge of linking up with the Accies.
"We will sign David Buchanan pending a medical," said Hamilton boss Billy Reid.
"We have one or two other things moving on but nothing concrete."
