Paul Hartley was full of praise for his players after Dundee had ended Hamilton's nine-game unbeaten Scottish Premiership run with a 2-0 victory at Dens Park.
Second-half goals from David Clarkson and Greg Stewart dealt the visitors their first league defeat since the opening day of the season.
Dark Blues boss Hartley enthused: "It wasn't a great game but a terrific performance.
"We did to Hamilton what they do to a lot of teams and worked hard and pressed the ball. Especially in the second-half, I thought we dominated.
"It's a great header from Clarky and the front two were a real handful in the second-half. Greg's finish was really composed.
"We brought Clarkson for his quality and experience and you can see he can score a goal and Greg just gets better and better.
"It's a great effort from our players. Hamilton are top of the league on merit and have been playing very well so all credit to the players for getting the three points.
"It was a hard game but we got what we wanted out of it."
His opposite number at Hamilton, Alex Neil, added: "I don't think we deserved to lose the game.
"I would be more concerned if they dominated the game and outplayed us. We have won games this season playing on a par with how we did today.
"We are not too disheartened at all. To have that record in the SPL with a young team and a new goalkeeper who has just joined is fantastic. I am not going to be too hard on the boys."
"The challenge now is to go and win against Aberdeen in the League Cup on Wednesday.
"It's not all negative. It is a good thing if your players feel we can do better."
