Lecce coach Luigi De Canio has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Manager to stand down by mutual consent

Lecce coach Luigi De Canio has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season. De Canio has steered Lecce to Serie A safety even before Sunday's final game of the campaign at home to Lazio, with a more illustrious Sampdoria side going down instead. The 53-year-old succeeded Mario Beretta in March 2009 and although he also unable to save them from relegation, he led Lecce straight back into the top flight last season. But despite also masterminding an unlikely survival this term, the former Siena, QPR and Napoli boss has agreed to step down in the summer. De Canio told a news conference on Thursday that the decision for him to leave the Stadio Via del Mare was made by mutual consent.
