Di Francesco receives vote of confidence after bad start to season
Lecce have vowed to give head coach Eusebio Di Francesco time to turn things around following a poor start to the Serie A season.
Di Francesco only took charge of Lecce over the summer after the Apulia-based club narrowly avoided relegation from the top flight last term.
Lecce had been hoping for a more comfortable campaign this time around but find themselves in the drop zone after five games, having lost four and won only once.
Reports in Italy have suggested they are now considering potential replacements for Di Francesco, but club administrator Renato Cipollini has rubbished the rumours.
Patient
"Since the start of the campaign we knew we needed to be patient," Cipollini told
Corriere dello Sport.
"I thought that at this stage of the campaign we would be in a higher position in the standings than where we are now, however, that does not mean that we should throw away the work done by our coach.
"It's right to give our coach time and no one has thought of replacing him."
Lecce visit Genoa after the international break before hosting defending champions AC Milan on 23rd October.
