Serie A strugglers ace Di Francesco

Lecce have sacked Eusebio Di Francesco and named Serse Cosmi as his replacement at the Serie A club. Di Francesco only took charge of Lecce over the summer after the Apulia-based club narrowly avoided relegation from the top flight last term, but he has been unable to transform their fortunes. Saturday's 4-2 defeat to Napoli was their third loss on the trot and left them rooted to the bottom of the table and the club have decided to act by replacing Di Francesco with Cosmi. A club statement read: "US Lecce announce the collaboration with Eusebio Di Francesco has been resolved today. We wish to express a sincere thanks for the work done until now. "US Lecce also confirm an agreement has been reached with Serse Cosmi to take control of the first team." Former Udinese and Perugia coach Cosmi, who has been out of work since a short spell at Palermo last season, has signed a deal until the end of the season with Lecce.
