Hoffenheim boss Marco Pezzaiuoli will be sacked at the end of the season, the club have confirmed.
Boss to see out the season before being replaced
Hoffenheim boss Marco Pezzaiuoli has become the latest Bundesliga manager to be axed after the club confirmed he will leave his post at the end of the season.
Pezzaiuoli, the seventh victim of the sack in 2011, only took over Hoffenheim in January following former boss Ralf Rangnick's resignation after four successful years at the club.
However, after picking up just 12 points in his 12 games in charge, the Hoffenheim board do not wish to proceed with Pezzaiuoli's two-and-a-half year deal beyond this season.
Pezzaiuoli, who was promoted from being Rangnick's assistant manager, will see out the five remaining Bundesliga games as first team coach while the club search for his successor.
"Obviously, it was not easy for Marco with the coach changes and the players who left in the winter," said general manager Ernst Tanner on the club's
official website.
"But following the developments in the last weeks, we decided to go into the new season with another coach."
Hoffenheim are currently 10th in the Bundesliga, nine points clear of the relegation zone.
