Hackney-born Irishman Maverick Sabre's current song-writing means he is living a nocturnal life. But, with his new album due out in January, skysports.com interrupted one of his afternoon naps to have a chat about Arsenal, Ian Wright and looking like Michael Owen.
Arsenal
I was born in a hospital in Hackney and we used to live Stoke Newington. My dad was never really a massive football fan, but he used to take me around Highbury. When we moved back to Ireland, he would still take me now and again. It was always in me.
Leyton Orient v Southend
My granddad used to be a massive Orient fan and so my mum's side of the family all support them. My uncle took me. I think it was 2-2. It was a great match.
Ian Wright/Michael Owen
When I was a kid, I used to look a bit like Owen. I was skinny with a big head and had floppy hair like him. First was Ian Wright because of Arsenal and then definitely Owen.
Oliver Kahn
I hated him. I was watching the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester United and Bayern Munich in 1999. Khan was doing an interview and I just thought, 'nah, I don't like you'.
Ross Celtic
It was my local county team. I was left-back, even though I was small and skinny. I used to get the boot in and get a lot of yellow and red cards. I stopped playing when I was about 15 years old because I got an injury on my toe and that was when I started getting properly into music.
