Bristol City yet to get in touch over move for manager
St Johnstone chairman Geoff Brown says Bristol City have not been in touch about a move for manager Derek McInnes.
The Championship club are searching for a new boss after parting company with Keith Millen last week following a poor start to the season.
They have compiled a shortlist and are conducting interviews, with reports suggesting that McInnes is one of the names in the frame.
Brown denies McInnes has been interviewed for the position by his City counterpart Colin Sextone, insisting there has not even been an approach at this stage.
"Nobody has been in touch with me," Brown told the
Dundee Courier.
"They would know that to officially interview Derek compensation would have to be agreed.
"Everyone has their own ideas but I would have thought that if you were in Bristol's position you would want someone who knows their division and knows the players available."
