Tommy Wright expects Stevie May to feature for St Johnstone in the Europa League on Thursday despite interest in the striker from Rotherham.
The Millers have been chasing the 21-year-old since November, when they lodged a £300,000 bid, but have stepped up their interest over the last few days, with the two clubs locked in negotiations over a deal which could surpass the £1million mark - comfortably a club record for the South Yorkshire side.
Although Wright admits the Millers are unwavering in their pursuit of May, the Saints boss remains insistent that any move will not go ahead until after the club's Europa League qualifying round second leg with Spartak Trnava on Thursday, with Saints in desperate need of May's goals as they trail 2-1 from the first leg.
"Stevie is still our player and if I was a betting man I'd say he'd still be our player on Thursday and will play in Slovakia," Wright told the Scottish Record.
"The clubs are still talking but he will be playing in Europe for us.
"Rotherham have been interested in Stevie for a long time and they keep banging at the door.
"They've come back a few times and seem determined to get their man. But nothing is agreed yet. There are still discussions going on."
May, a Scotland Under-21 international, has had a prolific two years in Scottish football, bagging 26 goals in 40 games for Hamilton in 2012/13 and following that up with 27 in 49 for the Saints last year.
