Burton boss Paul Peschisolido plans to hold talks with Steve Kabba but hinted he has other irons in the fire.
The 29-year-old striker spent the second half of the season on loan at the Pirelli Stadium from Brentford, scoring six goals in 24 appearances for Albion.
Kabba's contract at Brentford expires in June and he has not been retained by the League One club.
Peschisolido said: "I'm sure Steve and I will have a conversation at some stage during the summer, but I also have other ideas in mind.
"From my own point of view, I need to weigh up a few things."
