USA defender Steve Cherundolo has ended any doubts about his future by agreeing a new two-year contract at Hannover.
Cherundolo's contract with Hannover was due to expire at the end of the month and the 31-year-old had been attracting interest from Bundesliga rivals Cologne.
He is currently appearing for his national team at the World Cup, but as soon as he returns to Germany, he will put pen to paper on a new deal which also includes an option for a third year.
Hannover's director of sport Jorg Schmadtke confirmed the agreement with Cherundolo's agent Harun Arslan, according to the club's website.
Cherundolo has spent his entire professional career with the Reds, joining them from the University of Portland in 1999, and he has made a total of 293 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals.
The right-back has started both of the USA's games in the World Cup to date and is expected to be in the side for Wednesday's clash with Algeria which Bob Bradley's side must win to be certain of reaching the last 16.
