Striker collides with team-mate in training session
Uruguay striker Diego Forlan endured a World Cup injury scare after suffering a training ground collision on Sunday.
The collision occurred as Atletico Madrid ace Forlan participated in his side's first training session in South Africa.
The former Manchester United forward, who has been linked with a Tottenham move, crashed into midfielder Walter Gargano and looked to have injured his left foot, according to South Africa's
TimesLive website.
The striker reportedly looked to be in some pain, but was able to resume training several minutes later.
Dream
Meanwhile, captain Diego Lugano insists Uruguay will believe they can raise the trophy in South Africa until someone puts an end to their dream.
"Uruguay are going to put up a fight. It's our dream and personally I believe that until someone beats us and puts us out of the tournament, no-one here will take that from their minds, that we can be world champions," said Lugano.
"Uruguay are not among the favourites because for years now we have not had performances that endorse this favouritism.
"There are six or seven teams who, individually and collectively, are superior to Uruguay, even though these teams could be Brazil, Spain, Italy, Argentina, in one game you can beat them as has already happened many times in the history of Uruguayan football."
Uruguay will take on France, Mexico and hosts South Africa in Group A of the competition.
