Oxford striker Ryan Taylor has been ruled out for at least six weeks through injury.

The former Portsmouth and Rotherham forward, 27, twisted awkwardly during last weekend's defeat by Bristol Rovers and will be sidelined until at least March.

United boss Michael Appleton told the club website: "I don't know the exact length of the injury but I do know that it will be nothing short of six weeks.

"Whether it's eight or 10 who knows? The reality is we will be without him for a longer period and the thinking is that now is the time to maybe freshen things up."
